There is no better way to experience Ibiza than from the sea.
Beyond its famous nightlife, the island is home to secluded coves, dramatic cliffs, turquoise water, legendary beach restaurants and some of the most beautiful sunset spots in the Mediterranean. A private yacht gives you the freedom to discover all of them at your own pace ; often far away from the crowds on land.
If you have four days, this itinerary combines the very best of Ibiza and Formentera by yacht: Cala Jondal, Es Vedrà, Ses Illetes, Cala Bassa, Cala Comte and the quieter east coast of Ibiza, with some of our favourite restaurants along the way.
The exact route should always be adapted by your captain according to sea and wind conditions, but this is our ideal four-day escape.
Day 1 Cala Jondal, Es Vedrà & the Wild South of Ibiza
Morning: Depart from Ibiza
Start your yacht charter in the morning from Ibiza Town and cruise south along the coast.
There is no need to rush. The first part of the day is about settling into island life: breakfast on deck, your first swim in the Mediterranean and a slow cruise past Ibiza’s southern coastline.
Your first destination is Cala Jondal, one of Ibiza’s best-known bays. Located on the south coast, this large natural bay combines clear water, rocky scenery and several of the island’s most iconic restaurants.
Drop anchor, swim from the yacht and spend the late morning enjoying the water.
Lunch: Cala Jondal
For lunch, you have two very different Ibiza classics.
Casa Jondal is our choice if the priority is food. The waterfront restaurant created by chef Rafa Zafra has become one of the island’s most sought-after lunch reservations, particularly for seafood.
For a more festive atmosphere, head to Blue Marlin Ibiza, also located directly in Cala Jondal. It combines beach, restaurant, music and a day-to-night atmosphere.
Our pick: Casa Jondal for a long, sophisticated lunch. Blue Marlin if you want the afternoon to turn into a party.
Reservations are essential in July and August.
Afternoon: Cala d’Hort & Es Vedrà
After lunch, continue west toward Cala d’Hort and Es Vedrà.
Rising almost 400 metres from the sea around two kilometres off Ibiza’s coast, Es Vedrà is one of the island’s most recognisable landmarks.
Seeing it from a yacht is completely different from seeing it from land.
Cruise around the area, stop for a swim in one of the nearby coves and stay until the late afternoon.
Sunset: Es Vedrà from the yacht
Instead of rushing to a sunset restaurant, stay on board.
Champagne, music, a few tapas prepared on the yacht and sunset facing Es Vedrà make a perfect first evening.
After sunset, cruise back toward Ibiza Town for dinner or spend the night aboard depending on your charter.

Ibiza Town → Cala Jondal → Cala d’Hort → Es Vedrà → Ibiza
Day 2 Formentera & Ses Illetes
If there is one day you should never skip during an Ibiza yacht charter, it is Formentera.
Leave Ibiza in the morning and cross toward Ibiza’s smaller neighbouring island.
The landscape changes almost immediately. The water becomes incredibly clear and shallow, particularly around the northern part of Formentera.
Morning: Ses Illetes
Head toward Ses Illetes, inside the Ses Salines Natural Park.
It is one of Formentera’s most spectacular beaches, with pale sand and incredibly clear water.
Arriving by yacht allows you to enjoy the coastline before lunch: swim, paddleboard, snorkel or simply stay on deck.
This is also one of the places where having a private yacht makes the biggest difference. In summer, access from land becomes busy, while from the sea the experience feels completely different.
Lunch: Juan y Andrea
For the classic Formentera experience, book a table at Juan y Andrea.
Located directly on Illetes Beach, the restaurant specialises in Mediterranean seafood and has its own boat service for guests arriving by yacht.
Think barefoot lunch, grilled fish, lobster, seafood, rosé and white tables under the palm trees.
It is unapologetically Formentera.
Alternative: Beso Beach if you prefer a livelier beach-club atmosphere.
Afternoon: Explore Formentera
After lunch, don’t immediately head back to Ibiza.
Cruise slowly along Formentera and spend the afternoon swimming away from the busiest areas.
Depending on conditions and your captain’s recommendation, you can continue toward Cala Saona on the western side of the island.
Its rocky coastline and blue water are particularly beautiful in the late afternoon.
Sunset
Enjoy sunset from the yacht around Cala Saona before either:
- spending the night around Formentera;
- docking at La Savina;
- or returning to Ibiza.
For a four-day yacht trip, we prefer staying around Formentera for the evening rather than crossing back immediately.
Perfect second-day route:
Ibiza → Ses Illetes → Juan y Andrea → Formentera coast → Cala Saona
Day 3 Cala Bassa & Ibiza’s West Coast
Day three is dedicated to Ibiza’s famous west coast.
After breakfast on board, cruise back toward Ibiza and make your way toward Cala Bassa.
Morning: Cala Bassa
Cala Bassa combines turquoise water, a sandy seabed and a beautiful natural setting.
It is an excellent place to anchor for the morning, swim and enjoy the yacht before lunch.
The official Ibiza tourism site also highlights nearby Platges de Comte — commonly known as Cala Comte or Cala Conta — for its natural setting, shallow water and sandy seabed mixed with rocky areas.
Lunch: Cala Bassa Beach Club
Stop at Cala Bassa Beach Club for lunch.
The property sits directly on Cala Bassa and offers several different restaurant areas with Mediterranean and international cuisine.
It is an easy option when travelling by yacht because you can combine a proper lunch with a few hours enjoying the bay.
Afternoon: Cala Comte
After lunch, cruise toward Cala Comte.
Rather than spending the afternoon rushing between multiple beaches, stay here.
Swim, take out the water toys, relax on the sun deck and enjoy one of the most photogenic stretches of Ibiza’s west coast.
Golden hour & sunset
This part of Ibiza is famous for sunset, and a yacht gives you the best seat in the house.
Position the boat offshore before golden hour, open a bottle of wine and watch the coastline slowly change colour.
There is really no need to be inside a crowded sunset bar when you have your own floating terrace.
Perfect third-day route:
Formentera → Cala Bassa → Cala Comte → West Coast sunset
Day 4 The Quieter Side of Ibiza
After three days around Ibiza’s most iconic destinations, spend your final day discovering a calmer side of the island.
Cruise along the east coast toward Cala Llonga and Sol d’en Serra.
The scenery here feels different from Cala Jondal or Cala Comte: pine-covered hills, rocky cliffs and quieter coves.
Morning: Swim & slow cruising
Keep the morning deliberately unplanned.
One of the advantages of a private yacht charter is not having to turn every hour into another destination.
Ask your captain to find a sheltered swimming spot according to the conditions that day, have breakfast or brunch on deck and spend a couple of hours in the water.
Lunch: Amante Ibiza
For the final lunch of the trip, reserve Amante Ibiza.
The restaurant sits above the secluded cove of Sol d’en Serra, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and overlooking the Mediterranean. Its cuisine is Mediterranean-inspired and the setting is one of the most impressive on this side of Ibiza.
It is a beautiful contrast to the more energetic atmosphere of Cala Jondal and Formentera.
Afternoon: One Last Swim
After lunch, return to the yacht and spend the final hours swimming and relaxing.
Then slowly cruise back toward Ibiza Town.
Arrive in the marina in the late afternoon, giving yourself time to shower and change before one final evening in Ibiza.
If you still want one exceptional dinner, reserve a table at La Gaia at Ibiza Gran Hotel or walk into Dalt Vila for dinner inside Ibiza’s historic old town.
Perfect fourth-day route:
Ibiza → East Coast → Sol d’en Serra → Cala Llonga → Ibiza Town
A Few Tips Before Your Ibiza Yacht Charter
Book restaurants in advance
Restaurants such as Casa Jondal and Juan y Andrea become extremely popular during the summer months.
If you already know your travel dates, ask your yacht charter team or concierge to organise the reservations in advance.
Don’t over-plan
Four days might sound like a long time, but the best yacht trips are rarely the ones with ten stops per day.
Choose one or two main destinations, then let the captain adapt the itinerary according to the weather, sea conditions and what you feel like doing.
Respect Ibiza’s Posidonia
The extraordinary clarity of the water around Ibiza and Formentera is closely connected to the extensive Posidonia oceanica meadows surrounding the islands.
Anchoring must therefore be carried out responsibly and in authorised areas. Ibiza and Formentera actively monitor anchoring during the summer season, particularly to prevent damage to protected Posidonia meadows.
A professional captain will select the appropriate anchoring area or mooring system.
